OUTLYING ISLANDS: There are a number of inexpensive, pleasant ferry rides of 45-60 min that originate from the Outlying Ferries Pier in Central. (They can be pleasant, that is , provided you don't travel just when Hong Kong's million young factory and office workers are heading out for their weekend hikes and barbecues.)
CLUBS: form a major part of the expatriate social scene in Hong Kong. Some, like the Hong Kong Club, have a history almost as long as the British presence in Hong Kong.
Some are solely for eating, drinking and socializing, while others are sports oriented, with swimming pools are facilities for squash, billiards, cricket, tennis, boating, etc.
If you belong to a club back home, check to see if they have reciprocal rights with any in Hong Kong.
HORSERACING: It may be the Sport of Kings,
but in Hong Kong nearly everyone, royalisty or no partakes.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club has two tracks, one in Happy Valley (Hong Kong
Island) and the other in Shatin (New Territories).
